A century-and-a-half ago, organized baseball got its Arizona start right here in Prescott, on a corner of what is today’s Courthouse Plaza. Now, through February 1, the Lawler lobby features a compact but evocative exhibit on baseball organized by the non-profit group Arizona Baseball Legacy and Experience (ABLEAZ.org). See, among other treasures, a catcher’s mask from 1883, and read the story of the Arizona Baseball Trail. This complements an exhibit at Scottsdale Stadium, “Forged in Fire,” and presages more to come in 2026.
