Day in the Life Camp:

June 2-3, 2027

Day in the Life Camp is a cross-cultural program designed to allow children to learn about the work and games of Yavapai and pioneer children during the 19th century. The two-day program provides plenty of educational fun, from cultural activities like archery and rabbit sticks to pioneer crafts and living history.

This camp experience is designed for children 7-13 years old. The cost for both days is $100 per child. Registration for Day in the Life Camp opens in January, 2027. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information.

Sharlot Hall Museum Open‑Enrollment Camp: 

Surviving Prescott 1864:

Week 1: June 7th through June 11th

Week 2: June 14th through June 18th

Week 3: June 21st through June 25th

Step into the past and discover the thrill of frontier life! This summer, young adventurers are invited to join our immersive five‑day camp and experience what it took to survive and thrive in Prescott’s early days.

For one unforgettable week, campers will dive into hands‑on challenges inspired by pioneer life from mastering survival skills to practicing self‑sufficiency, creating frontier‑style crafts, and teaming up for collaborative, high-energy games. Each afternoon will bring a new adventure with special live demonstrations before wrapping up with a flag ceremony.

By the end of the week, your child won’t have just learned about history—they will have lived it. Campers will walk away with confidence, resilience, practical life skills, new friends, and stories they’ll be excited to share.

This camp is designed for children ages 9-12. Camp runs daily with drop-off starting at 8:30AM and pick-up from 4:00-4:30 PM. We’ll wrap up the week with a special Friday awards ceremony that you won’t want to miss!

Junior Counselor Program:

Do you have a teen who is eager to build leadership skills and train as a future camp counselor? We’re seeking four motivated Junior Counselors to support our Surviving Prescott 1864 Summer Camps.

Junior Counselors work alongside staff to help lead activities and crafts, encourage and motivate campers, foster team spirit, and assist with general camp operations. They’ll also enjoy plenty of the fun and games that make camp memorable.

The cost for a full week is $150, which includes a daily snack and a special Junior Counselor t‑shirt.

• Be 13-17 years of age by the time camp starts

Family Camp Experience “Little Ranch in the Pines”:

Little Ranch in the Pines Family Camp invites families to step into pioneer life together during a full‑day, immersive experience. Held on Saturday, July 17 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, this program is designed so working parents can join in the fun. Families will rotate through historic stations—such as the blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, and ranch house—where they will take part in living‑history activities that reveal what life was like in Arizona’s early days. This experience offers an intimate, hands-on way to learn, explore, and connect with the past as a family.

• Children must be 5 years of age or older
• A simple sack lunch will be provided for the day 
• Cost for camp is on a sliding scale
  • Family size of 2-5 people = $50
  • Family size of 6-10 people = $75
  • Family size of 10 or more = $100-$125

Sharlot Hall Museum Day Camps:

We’re thrilled to welcome outside summer camp groups to spend a day at our historic campus Tuesday through Saturday throughout the month of July. 

The Day Camp experience comes with an interactive tour of the museum, a picnic style snack on the lawn, and a hands-on activity! Whether you’re interested in nature and want to explore our beautiful arboretum or want to see history brought to life with hands-on artifacts, we have the venue and programming to engage your group.
