Lawler Exhibit Center

Completed in 1979, the John & Helen Lawler Exhibit Center is the hub around which many of the Museum activities revolve. The Lawler building contains an orientation video for visitors, an exhibit wing on the Prehistory of Arizona, an exhibit that introduces the museum founder Sharlot Hall, and two changing exhibit spaces. In the lobby you will find an engaging exhibit about the founder of the Museum, Sharlot Mabridth Hall, as well as the Cabinet of Curiosities.

Prehistory of the Central Highlands

The East Wing of the Lawler Exhibit Center features five distinct exhibits that trace the Central Highlands. The exhibits range from the time of the “Beasts” through the migration of “Earliest Americans” and the indigenous peoples of the region, including the wonder of the “Hilltop Sites” and “Coalescence” of cultures before the arrival of European-descent and American settlers.

Sharlot M. Hall Exhibits

In the lobby of the Lawler Exhibit Center, visitors are introduced to the Museum’s founder, Sharlot Mabridth Hall, through an exhibit on her life and legacy. In the nearby theater room, an orientation video gives a short history of Arizona’s Central Highlands, the City of Prescott, and the Sharlot Hall Museum. Changing Exhibit Spaces

Two changing exhibit spaces in the Lawler Exhibit Center, the Museum Center Gallery and West Gallery, are home to the Museum’s temporary exhibitions. For more information on our current changing exhibits, visit our Exhibits page.
