Permanent Exhibits
The Sharlot Hall Museum is fortunate to house many permanent exhibits which contribute greatly to the rich cultural history of Arizona and, in particular, the Central Highlands and Yavapai County. These include:
Lawler Exhibit Center
The Lawler Exhibit Center features an exhibit wing on the prehistory of Arizona’s Central Highlands, an exhibit on Sharlot M. Hall, and two changing exhibit spaces.
Transportation Building
From bicycles to surreys, freight wagon and stagecoach to Ford Model-T and Sharlot’s own Durant Star car, the Transportation Building hosts the Museum’s “rolling stock.”
Sharlot Hall Building Exhibits
The Sharlot Hall Building’s two permanent exhibits “The Baskets Keep Talking” and “Territorial Prescott” present a history of the Yavapai people and a window into the early culture of Prescott.
Portraits in Courage
Portraits in Courage is a permanent, free exhibit on display in the Granite Creek Center.
Featuring twelve museum-quality portraits of combat veterans spanning World War II to modern conflicts, the exhibit combines fine art with interactive augmented reality technology, allowing visitors to hear each veteran’s story in their own words using a smartphone. This unique installation honors generations of American service members and will remain on display for future visitors to experience.
