Living History: Trades & Traditions

June 11, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Have you ever wanted to be a blacksmith? Or hand-stitch designs into a quilt? Immerse yourself in Territorial Prescott. From professions to crafts, experience how everyday people made a life.

Explore the Museum’s campus and meeting Living History interpreters on the grounds and in historic buildings as they go about their day. See the blacksmith work in a real forge, print something in the Print Shop, smell dinner cooking in the Ranch House, and more!

Visitors can craft a cornhusk doll, bind their own book, dip a candle, and pan for “gold.” When it’s time for a break, stop at the Amphitheater to catch a live performance by Eric Ramsey, Begged and Borrowed, Wayne Grossman, Greg LaCosse, or Marty Province. Set those toes tapping!

See demonstrations from crafters, including spinning, weaving, quilting (and design a quilt block!), lace making, and wood carving. This is a day you won’t want to miss!

Living History activities are included in the price of admission. Kids 12-under get in free.
