The true life story of a Prescott pioneer, a Manhattan Victorian socialite who came west to visit an art colony on the Hopi Mesa’s for two weeks… and stayed for eight years!  Told in full costume and first person Sharlot Hall’s “best friend,” Kate T. Cory will share her amazing life with the Hopi. Her paintings are found in the Smithsonian, Museum of Indigenous People and Sharlot Hall Museum

PRESENTER
Brenda Cusick studies all facets of Kate T. Cory life in order to personify Cory on stage. Cusick has conducted research on Cory at the Sharlot Hall Archives, Arizona State Capital, Museum of Northern Arizona, Scottsdale Museum of the West, and Museum of Indigenous People, as well as visited Cory’s home on the Hopi Mesas of Walpi and Oraibi. Cusick has presented at the Western Heritage Center, Phippen Museum and Flagstaff’s Riordan Mansion and serves on the Prescott Western Heritage Foundation Board of Directors.
