October 10 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
In honor of Halloween, explore a stranger, darker side of Arizona with author Patrick Whitehurst.
Go beyond the state’s beautiful vistas and desert landscapes and discover tales of the odd, mysterious, and unexplained. From the legendary cryptid said to stalk the Grand Canyon to a purported alien abduction that inspired a feature film, strange happenings and weird occurrences have been recorded in every corner of Arizona.
Patrick Whitehurst is the author of several works of fiction and nonfiction, including Monterey Noir and Murder and Mayhem in Tucson. Cutting his teeth as a news reporter on the crime beat, Whitehurst brings a keen eye for detail to stories exploring the intersection of dark history, gritty crime fiction, Arizona legends, and the unexplained.
When he isn’t chronicling the exploits of Sam the Thug or researching Arizona legends, Whitehurst can often be found among the saguaros in Tucson.
Join us for this special Halloween-season author program and discover some of Arizona’s most unusual and unsettling stories.
